Obedience
Obedience in human behavior is a form of social influence in
which a person yields to explicit instructions or orders from an authority
figure.
Other words that mean the same:
- Duty
- Respect
- Good behavior
- Submission
Examples:
- Traditional armies drill unquestioning obedience into their grunts.
- The dogs must be mild mannered, know basic obedience commands, and enjoy meeting new people.
- Nicole also works part time as dog trainer, teaching basic obedience.
- The cowardly obedience with which the dictator's henchmen followed his every command.
